Western has also introduced new scholarships of up to $26,000 for Black and Indigenous students. Students will be automatically considered, although they do need to self-identify as Black or Indigenous.Indigenous Learning Space Western's new Indigenous Learning Space opens on November 7! The space will facilitate and coordinate services and programming for the Indigenous community at Western, as well as the wider community at Western and the Deshkan Zibi territory. Application FAQs Does Western look at Grade 11 marks? We will consider a combination of Grade 11 and 12 courses. Check our website to learn more about how we review applications in Ontario and the rest of Canada. Does Western accept repeated courses? Yes, we will take the higher of two attempts. If you have taken a course more than twice, we may review an average of your attempts. What information do I need to submit? Once you submit your application on OUAC, we'll need your grades. Then, depending on your program and circumstances, you may also need to submit supplementary forms. We don't ask for any information about your extracurricular, unless they are relevant in a supplementary form for your program. You may also choose to tell us about your extracurricular in the Extraordinary Extracurricular Activities and Contributions to Citizenship Profile, if this has impacted your grades and you may fall marginally below requirements. What if I don't have prerequisites/required courses for my program until last semester? You're not alone! We will check to see that you are enrolled in required courses as part of our review and you may receive an offer without a midyear or final grade if you are a competitive applicant. Be sure your OUAC high school grade data or Self-Reported Grades Form is accurate and complete. Will Western accept additional courses at a private school/online school? Yes! It's important to make sure the school you choose is approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education. We may monitor your results for consistency with your home high school results and ask you to provide more information if we have questions. We want you to be well prepared for success at Western and beyond! In Ontario, you need to make sure your home school knows about these courses and reports them to OUAC. In the rest of Canada, you report these courses on your Self-Reported Grades Form. When will I hear back after applying? For Ontario high school students, we will make offer rounds from December to May, usually after high school grades are made available to the OUAC. If you haven't received an offer, we'll continue to review your application in each round until May. After this, we'll provide you with a decision. It's important to remember that you're still being considered in each round, even if you haven't had an offer. So, don't worry if you don't hear right away and be sure to check we have all your updated marks. For the rest of Canada, you can expect to wait an average of 4-6 weeks before you hear back from us. We make decisions on a rolling basis. This means decisions are released each week as we work down the queue of complete applications. Where can I find help applying? You can find step-by-step explanations in our online application guide. Want to talk it through with someone or ask questions? Book a Zoom appointment with a friendly advisor. Any more questions?
