Join Dr. Julia Gibson, Psychiatrist at BC Children’s Hospital, as she discusses what trauma is, how to talk to your child about these experiences, what you can do as a parent or caregiver to support your child, and where and when to reach out for additional support. Register today! Discovery Day is our biggest recruitment event for high school students and will take place on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, from 9 am - 2 pm PST on a virtual event platform called Pheedloop. The platform provides students with some fun ways to engage, including live student chats and sessions, and gamification (more on this to come). The event will be hosted by VIU Student Ambassadors and will focus on the student experience while still giving attendees lots of opportunities to explore our programs and services. Your students will get the most out of the event if they are able to log in individually from a computer. We will also host Parent Sessions that evening from 5 - 7 pm PST for parents interested in learning more about supports and services VIU offers such as financial aid and student housing.
Just like previous years, here are some important things to note: Discovery Day is open to ALL students in Grades 10, 11 and 12. There will be engagement activities and contests.
