Deadline to accept admission offers: May 1 As we start creeping closer to summer weather, that means we’re also quickly approaching the deadline to accept UVic admission offers, which is May 1 (for most programs). Students should reference their offer of admission to confirm their acceptance deposit deadline, as it may vary depending on the program and when the admission decision was made. For any students who may be unsure of how to pay their acceptance deposit in order to accept their offer of admission, they can read more about how to do so on our website here. Registration 101 Webinars: May 17 to June 3 After applicants have accepted their offers of admission, the next step will be to register for courses in mid-late June. In advance of course registration, we’ll be hosting 3-weeks of Registration 101 Webinars from Monday, May 17 to Thursday, June 3 at various time slots to help incoming UVic students plan their courses and prepare to register. Students can now sign up for Registration 101 Webinars on our website here. Admitted students will receive an email with this information early next week. Entrance scholarship update Any applicants who have missed the deadline to accept their UVic entrance scholarship must contact the Student Awards Office, directly (this cannot come from a parent or counsellor), if they would like to request reinstatement. Offers will only be reinstated until May 14, at which point, students must wait until their final grades are submitted by the Ministry of Education to be reconsidered. Applicants must email the UVic Scholarship Assistant at [email protected] with their full name, student number and a brief explanation outlining why they did not accept their scholarship by the required deadline. Entrepreneurship workshops for grade 10 and 11 students And finally, UVic’s Gustavson School of Business will be hosting zoom workshops at the end of May for grade 10 and 11 students who may want to learn how they can flex their entrepreneurial skills through a side-hustle or microbusiness of their own. Please find attached the poster with more details and registration information, and please feel free to distribute it directly to your students. As always, thanks for all that you do in support of your students and their future educational endeavours! All the best, Meghan

Ms. GavelinWelcome to the world of scholarships and post secondary planning! I have been working with Valleyview students since 2005 as a Counsellor and their Scholarship liaison. I won't be able to tell you exactly what to apply for but I can give you direction on your journey through this part of high school. Archives
