As the second month of the school year is drawing to a close, we sincerely hope you and your students are doing well and have been able to settle in. Here at USask, we are adjusting to our primarily virtual workspace, and are offering new online programming to meet yours and your students' needs as they consider what's on the horizon for them in 2021. In this update:
What Is Engineering? is going virtual in 2020!Students, counsellors, parents and other supporters are all welcome to register for What Is Engineering? We can't invite everyone to come see us at the Engineering Building, but you'll still get a first-hand look at USask Engineering AND learn all about our redesigned first-year engineering program, dubbed RE-ENGINEERED. What is Engineering? 2020 Tuesday, November 17, 4 - 7 pm CST (SK time) Come meet the professors who will be teaching RE-ENGINEERED and hear them answer the question: "What Is Engineering?" You’ll also learn about our co-op program and engineering careers, and hear from our award-winning student groups. Plus we'll have a live Q & A session so you can have all of your questions answered. Register now for What is Engineering? 2020 Learn about Engineering at USaskProspective students and their supporters are invited to join the University of Saskatchewan online at USASK EXPRESS, where we will walk students through applying to university step-by-step. USASK EXPRESS application workshops are offered on November 10, 19 and 24, 2020 from 6:30-8:30 pm CST (SK time). Each event includes application workshops, information sessions and a drop-in Q&A. Eligible students who register for and submit an application at a USASK EXPRESS event and provide required documents like transcripts could receive a decision within one week. USASK EXPRESS New degree type: Biomedical SciencesUSask will begin offering a revamped biomedical sciences degree program starting in May 2021. Made possible through a partnership between the College of Arts and Science and the College of Medicine, the retooled Bachelor of Science (Biomedical Science) [B.Sc. (BMSC)] will provide cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary training that will position USask students for careers in the biomedical sciences and health professions, as well as for graduate studies and research.
