U-Start pre-orientation starts in a week!Our U-Start pre-orientation for admitted students takes place from from May 19 to June 17. Admitted undergraduate students can sign up for a variety of in-person and online activities, where they will be able to:

Preparing for class registration Getting a head start with summer classesWhy should students consider starting classes in the summer term? Students can get ahead in their programs, lighten their course load for upcoming terms or complete some prerequisites needed for a future class. Learn about summer classes. Students who have already applied for admission for the 2022 Fall Term but are interested in taking classes in the spring or summer can find deadlines to request a change to their start term online. Time to prepare to register for fall and winter classesIt's time for USask students to review their course requirements, find the earliest date and time they can register, and plan their class schedule in PAWS. Class registration information and instructions are available on our classes and registration page. NEW: Additional class registration instructions will be emailed to students who sign up for a Learning Community or are starting classes in the College of Engineering since the class registration process is slightly different for these groups. Math Readiness AssessmentAre your students planning to take a math course in their first year at USask? They can access our Math Readiness Assessment tool to be prepared for the course they choose. Whether they're looking to complete their quantitative reasoning requirement for a Bachelor of Arts degree, thinking about becoming a teacher, or planning to major in mathematical physics, most new students take one or more math or stats courses in their first year. What can a management major do for your students?After considering the six majors offered in Edwards School of Business, and after taking introductory courses in every field, Juan Mendoza decided to declare management as his major. “I started in the College of Kinesiology and took different courses outside my discipline to have a general idea of what it would be like to be in that area of study.” said Mendoza. “Upon taking COMM 101, I was intrigued by the class and revaluated my career path.” Find out more about Juan Mendoza’s story. Edwards Comm 101 OnlineAre your students currently in grade 11 and want to get a head start in business school? They can sign up now to start this fall and take Edwards Comm 101 Online to receive dual credit for Introduction to Business 30L and COMM 101.3: Introduction to Business. Applications are due June 30. ESL Post-secondary Preparation CourseWe'd love to invite incoming students who want to sharpen their language skills and prepare for higher education ahead of fall to register for the English as a Second Langaue (ESL) Post-secondary Preparation Course with the USask Language Centre. The course will include sessions on academic writing, note taking, reading strategies, student expectations, presentations, navigating group work and how to talk to your instructor. We'll offer this online course from August 15 to 26 for two hours a day. The cost is $500. Note: This course is not for students who need to meet English Proficiency requirements for the University of Saskatchewan.You can find information about this on our English Proficiency requirements page.
