Events for your students
In addition to our participation in all PSBC and CUE events this fall, UVic will be hosting numerous virtual events that will be valuable for prospective students and their families, who are exploring the University of Victoria as a potential destination. These events can be found on the “Tours and Events” page of our website and include: Discover UVic Information Sessions: Designed for students applying to UVic for September 2021, but we welcome everyone who's thinking about studying at UVic in the future. Parent Nights: The same admission, scholarship and application procedure information that we share during traditional presentations along with some helpful information/tips on how parents/guardians can assist their students to successfully transition to life in university. Student Experience Panels: Virtual panel of current UVic students sharing their experiences and answering questions about life at the University of Victoria. Lectures and Seminars: Series of online lectures and seminars with guest speakers from UVic talking about a variety of topics and answering questions. New website Our brand new website launched late this summer, and it’s designed to help students effectively navigate program options, admission requirements, tuition fees, the application process and more. Please feel free to explore for yourself at uvic.ca/undergraduate. You can also reference our section of the website designed for high school counsellors. Digital viewbook You’ve likely received your UVic counsellor package, which included a copy of the 2021-2022 undergraduate viewbook. If a digital copy of the viewbook would be useful, you can find one here on our website. Admissions information
Program update Physical and Health Education (Bachelor of Arts) is a new program, offered by the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education, that forms the ideal route to becoming a school-based physical and health education teacher. Students should apply to the Faculty of Education and select Recreation and Health Education as their major. Students can request to transfer into the Physical and Health Education stream after one year of full-time study. Residence updates Construction is well under way for the two new residence buildings on-campus, which will house 621 new residence beds. The one-phase approach to construction will result in the deconstruction of Margaret Newton Hall, Emily Carr Residence and Cadboro Commons at once. This approach also requires the installation of a modular food services facility until the permanent new dining facility is operational. This modular dining facility will be operational from September 2020 to July 2022. More information about this construction project can be found here. As always, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions that you or your students may have, and I’m happy to help you find the information you’re looking for. I can be reached by phone at 250-853-3584 or by email at [email protected].
