Hello from the University of Alberta!
I just wanted to touch base and wish you a happy Spring (finally!). I also wanted to let you know about the Top 3 upcoming UAlberta events for your students. 1) Virtual Admitted Students Day All admitted students (ie: students with an offer of admission) are invited to attend this fun and informative virtual day on April 17 to kickoff their UAlberta journey! Virtual Admitted Student Day will celebrate your students' accomplishments while preparing them to start at the University of Alberta this fall. Admitted students are invited to register for this event at uab.ca/ASD 2) Registration 101 Workshops Registration 101 workshops help your admitted UAlberta students register for their University of Alberta courses! At a Reg 101 workshop students will learn how to navigate the Bear Tracks system for course selection and registration, get advice on which courses to take in first year, and ask their questions directly to a UAlberta advisor. These workshops will be offered from late April through late May, and registration is available now at uab.ca/reg101 3) Discover U of A For your students in grade 11 and younger, we have a brand new Spring event to help them discover the University of Alberta. Discover U of A is their chance to find out what they can study, what campus is the right fit, what career opportunities are out there, what happens after class and MORE. Discover U of A will take place online over 2 evenings in May but it won't be your typical Zoom meeting - students can expect an authentic look at the academic and social life that awaits them at the U of A. Registration is available at uab.ca/recruitmentevents In addition to these Top 3 events, your students are invited to check out uab.ca/recruitmentevents for other upcoming virtual offerings, including personalized one-on-one virtual advising (available to students in any grade). If you haven't already, I also invite you to subscribe to our monthly e-newsletter for information on admissions and deadlines, events, and UAlberta updates curated (by yours truly!) specifically for counsellors and educators. As always if you have any questions about the University of Alberta please send me an email at [email protected] Take care, stay healthy, and enjoy the Spring sunshine. Ms. GavelinWelcome to the world of scholarships and post secondary planning! I have been working with Valleyview students since 2005 as a Counsellor and their Scholarship liaison. I won't be able to tell you exactly what to apply for but I can give you direction on your journey through this part of high school. Archives
