Welcome back to the Thompson Rivers University Counsellor Newsletter, the TRU Current. We want to keep you up to date so students are provided with the most accurate information about attending TRU.
In this issue, we highlight program application deadlines, official transcripts, ways to connect with the Future Students Team and COVID-19 FAQ. Check out our 2020 - 21 Viewbook and new Indigenous Viewbook APPLICATION DATES AND DEADLINES Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Computing Science, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Science: Arts,Business, Computing Science, Fine/Visual Arts & Science programs continue to accept applications for Fall 2020 until the start of the semester. Engineering Transfer & Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering: Engineering Transfer (year 1&2) application deadline extended until April 30. Software Engineering application deadline is April 30. Awards: Entrance Awards application including the Potential Award and Regional Award have been extended to April 22nd to allow students more time to access references. In addition, please note that offers for Entrance Scholarships (deadline March 1) will be delayed this year, and are expected to come in early April. Transcripts: Please inform students that TRU Admissions can proceed with unofficial electronic copy of transcripts (PDF) for this time but that an official transcript will be required as soon as they are made available. WAYS TO CONNECT Given the current situation with COVID-19, and in the interest of the health and safety of our university community, the Future Students Team will be operating remotely. For Future Students specific questions, students and counsellors can use our chat feature (orange button) or schedule a digital appointment with recruiter-advisor by submitting a request on the Future Students contact page. COVID-19 FAQ TRU is monitoring the situation and reviewing the most up-to-date information and recommendations available through regional and provincial medical health officers. For the latest information in British Columbia, visit the BC Centre for Disease Control website. Refer to the student frequently asked questions (Prospective and Future Students) about COVID-19, which we will update as new information is available; check for updates regularly. Questions?
