My name is Akanksha and I am a Outreach Coordinator for Youth at SCWIST (scwist.ca/) an organization that works to introduce K-12 girls to a wide range of exciting career options and positive female role models in STEM.
Do you know a grade 10-12 girl who wants to explore science, tech, engineering and math (STEM) careers and find out what engineers and scientists do every day? Or needs some school or career advice that’s tailored to her? eMentoring, our free online mentoring program, can help with exactly that. eMentoring is a 6-week program that pairs girls in high schools across Canada with female role models in STEM. Students and their mentors are then sent weekly discussion questions, covering topics such as career path, post-secondary life, work environments, finances, and work/life balance. eMentoring is done entirely over email. The time commitment is approximately 1 hour a week. Registration for eMentoring is now open. It would be great if you could share information about this program with those who might be interested at your school. I have also attached a shareable poster to this email in case that is helpful. The next round of eMentoring runs from October 4th until November 12th (6 weeks). Applications are due September 30th. Students can apply online: https://scwist.ca/forms/ementoring-student-application/?swcfpc=1 Read more about the program here: https://scwist.ca/programs/ms-infinity/ If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! I won't be able to tell you exactly what to apply for but I can give you direction on your journey through this part of high school. Archives
