The UBC Centennials Scholars program supports academically qualified students who show an interest in UBC, but who would not otherwise be able to attend without significant financial assistance. After you graduate from high school you may be considered a student who is eligible for funding if you have been in care with the Ministry of Children and Families. As a former-youth-in-care student you may have access to specialized enrolment services at some post secondary institutions too.
UBC offers specific services for former-youth-in-care and students will have access to a specialized Enrolment Services Advisor who will help navigate UBC and all funding options for post secondary. What funding options are available: 1. BC Provincial Tuition Waiver 2. UBC Post Care Tuition Waiver 3. Youth Futures Education Fund 4. Youth Education Assistance Fund 5. 1. Bachelor of Education is now a limited entry program. There is also an applicant profile and math requirement. 2. Students can now enter into year one of the Bachelor of Arts in Criminology. The diploma remains as an exit credential. 3. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing application deadline is January 31, 2020. 4. The Engineering Transfer Program can now be taken as a certificate of diploma. Certificate allows transfer to UBC, SFU and UVIC. Diploma only allows for transfer to UVIC.
