I want to thank everyone for your continued support of BCSS Kids and Teens in Control programs and update you on our upcoming programs dates! Our online groups have been a great success with smaller group sizes and emotion regulation Tool Kits and craft supplies mailed to each child! They are loving it!!
We have had many referrals and have finally serviced all that were registered on the wait-lists! Our intake is always ongoing! Our Teens in Control program is a workshop that is held for 2 – 2 hour sessions in one week. All programs are after school starting at 4 pm. As you know, this is a very unique program offering very specific session outlines for those children living with a family member with mental illness. We are here to answer their questions and to help them know they are not alone. We have 2 new coordinators who have joined our team, their contact information is on the posters or you can email me directly. Please note the launch of the Cannabis and Mental Illness video! We are so very proud of these youth from our Youth Advocacy group who came together to develop this educational video. Please feel free to share this with your networks and use this to start discussions with youth about Cannabis and Mental Illness. https://www.bcss.org/education/child-and-youth-resources/cannabis-mental-illness-video/ I have attached a referral form and additional information about our programs. Referrals can be from a parent, guardian, social worker, counsellor, teacher or self-referral at the age of 14. Thank you again for all your support and please feel free to contact me with any questions! Warmest regards, Shelley |
