They were, of course, citing only tuition figures, and failed to mention that Quest also offers some of the largest scholarship and bursary awards of any university in the country (including the award featured here).
We believe that the cost of Quest is directly proportional to the value of the education we provide. Yes, it does cost more to assure that no student ever has a class with more than twenty students in it, and that the professor in charge is empowered to focus exclusively on that one class. It also costs more to take students outside the classroom, enriching the learning experience with frequent fieldwork, research opportunities, and study abroad. And it costs more to provide a genuine support systems on a campus where students live and learn all four years of their degree, such as our Learning Commons and our integrated co-curricular program. We believe our results justify spending more. It is why we consistently rank number one in undergraduate excellence in the National Survey of Student Engagement. But we also believe strongly that our education should be accessible to those students who can profit most from the Quest experience. That’s why the single largest item in our budget is financial aid, and that's why the average Canadian receives more than $40,000 in funding over the course of their Quest education. The Canadian Academic Performance Scholarship (CAPS) program is a clear signal of our commitment to Canadian applicants and families, and is designed to make the real costs of attending Quest more immediately transparent. The program is as simple as it sounds: every Canadian citizen or permanent resident who is accepted to Quest with an 80% average or above in their academic courses for grades 11 & 12 receives an automatic $10,000 annual award. This brings the annual tuition cost for these students down to just over $25,000, which can be further reduced with additional Scholarships and Bursary awards. Sincerely, Trevor Trevor Mannion | Director of Admissions and Financial Aid QUEST UNIVERSITY CANADA 3200 University Blvd. Squamish, BC V8B 0N8 604.898.8102 | questu.ca - As you may know, the University of British Columbia hosts a yearly event where we invite students in grades 10, 11 and 12 to our Okanagan campus in Kelowna for a day.
