In 2007, the House of Commons passed Jordan's Principle in memory of Jordan. It was a commitment that First Nations children would get the products, services and supports they need, when they need them. It can help with a wide range of health, social and educational needs.
Jordan's Principle: • Funds health, social and education products, supports and services for First Nations children across Canada, including British Columbia. • Applies to all public services, including services that are beyond the normative standard of care to ensure substantive equality, culturally appropriate services and to safeguard the best interests of the child. • Provides payment for needed services by the government or department that first receives the request. There’s a difference between Mount Royal and the “big guys”. As a mid-sized undergraduate institution, our average class size of just 31 students means your students transitioning from high school won’t feel like a number. For more than 100 years in sunny Calgary Alberta, we have been committed to quality education and future-focused programs offering practical skills for career readiness. We are known for offering a variety of uncommon degrees such as: Aviation (diploma), Athletic Therapy, Criminal Justice, Ecotourism & Outdoor Leadership, Information Design, Interior Design, Midwifery, and Public Relations, to name just a few. Although this fall I will not be able to visit schools in person, I would love the opportunity to support your students by providing virtual opportunities. Presentations can be customized to different groups of students during any regularly scheduled grade 10, 11 or 12 class time, during a lunch hour, after school, or even an evening event.
I am also available to meet with you or your students directly via Google Meet, or your school’s preferred virtual conferencing platform, to offer assistance with the application process or to provide information on our programs and admission requirements. Additionally, this one-on-one service can also be provided for your Indigenous students by our Indigenous Recruitment Officer, Melanie Parsons [email protected] Digital Resource Here is the BC Secondary Equivalency Chart. Wey-tp, Hello, Our commitment to the students of the Kamloops-Thompson region is stronger than ever, as we see Canadians increasingly seek out opportunities closer to home. Our wide range of programs and student services are all still available- although they may look a little different- as we adapt to an alternate-delivery model in the interest of the health and safety of our students. We are sending you and your students a package of our new viewbooks to explore these for yourselves, and also writing now to let you know that applications are now open for Fall 2021 campus programs. Your choices with TRU are truly limitless. Whether one of our programs is the goal, or a stop on the way, your students can find useful post-secondary information in the viewbooks and by connecting with us further. We wish you a safe and happy 2020-21 school year.
